This week, the Zebras take the show on the road and hit the ice at Lovell Arena—and it’s a special one. Huge thanks to Tim Lovell, friend of the show, for hosting us and helping make this incredible setting possible. With USA Hockey gear and a little gold shining on set, you know this episode brings something different.
We were proud to welcome members of the Massachusetts Adaptive Hockey Initiative, shining a spotlight on the power of hockey to bring athletes of all abilities into the game. Joining us is Nick McCummings, assistant coach of the U.S. National Blind Hockey Team, who breaks down how blind hockey works, the skill involved, and what it takes to compete at the national level.
We also hear from Kacie Butt, a hockey parent whose blind son plays the game, as she shares her family’s journey and explains the different levels of visual impairment in blind hockey. It’s an honest, eye-opening conversation about perseverance, teamwork, and the life-changing impact of adaptive sports.
